question about disibility and waiting in line

Hi everyone - I am totally new to this site, and am excited beyond words, because my whole family is planning our first trip to Disney World in Sept. My question is - I will be using a motorized scooter to get around because I am disabled (am battling cancer for the 3rd time), and I was told by a few people who have gone there in the past, that because of my disability, that we will be able to go to the front of the lines, and not have to wait. Does anyone know anything about this? Have any of you ever used a motorized scooter, and if so, did you have to wait in line? Any help with this would be greatly appreciated - thank you!!!

Here is a good article by Deb at "All Ears" with information on accessibility in WDW.

    Disability and waiting in lines

Disney has a wonderful way of taking care of people, especially with disabilities. In Disneyworld you go to Guest Relations at Magic Kingdom first, with mom in the scooter. The person you are getting this pass "Guest Assistance Card" for has to be there and they will write it up for up to 6 people and for how many days you are staying for. This way there is no waiting in line and the cast members are there to help guide you and your family as where to go. You will show the cast members this paper at every ride, so keep it safe and accessible. It is wonderful and we have used it for years. Check out Judysdisney.com to enjoy Walt Disney World now. Thanks!
