Tues Feb 26th - Disney Hollywood Studio's
We arrived at the park for 9am. The forcast was 65 with chance of Thunder Storms.
First thing we did was go and confirm our dinner reservations at 50's Prime Time Cafe and get my mom her Birthday Pin. We headed for the Character Spots and managed to get Stitch, Chip & Dale, and Pluto before the rest went in for a little break. While the characters were backstage we decided to go on the Great Movie Ride. The wait was only 5 min and while on the ride just before the Gangster scene the ride broke down. After listening to Marry Poppins sing the same few lines over and over again we were informed that the 'empty' car in front of us should have gone on the B track but instead got on the A track which caused problems for us and that unfortunately our gangster scene may be ruined because of it. Thankfully the gangster scene went as planned. Now I've been on the ride a few times before and I must say that the driver we had this time wasn't the most convincing in her part (same for the gangster), but my mom and sister both seemed to enjoy it - being their first time.
After we got off the ride some of the characters were back out again. This time Mickey was out with Pluto... so of course we had to go and get out picture taken with the 2 of them together. I brought with me a little Mickey character that laughs and vibrates when you squeeze it's one foot. This is a toy I had picked up here at home a few weeks prior to my trip and it was in all the character pictures I had taken. Well when Pluto saw this he loved it. At one point he put it in his mouth and let it bounce around. Mickey Mouse saw this, pulled it out and shook his finger at Pluto for what he had done. lol.
For those of you who have been on the Sounds Dangerous you will know what I'm saying when I mention it's not one of Disney's most popular or well liked attractions. When explaining the general idea of this attraction both my mom and sister expressed interest in seeing it. So I took a deep breath and said "ok, let's go". When we came back out, both said that they wished they had listened to me.
By now our tummies were getting hungry so we went to grab something at Toy Story Pizza Planet. I love the Cheese Pizza's there. MMMMM Cheese. It was now 11:45 and so we crossed the park to see Beauty & The Beast. Got there just in time to sit down and listen to 4 for a Dollar. I love those guys. (Bought their CD after the show) Once again after the show we went character hunting. Cruella Devil had congratulated me on the pregnancy and mentioned that if I have a girl I must name her Curella and if it's a boy he should be named Jasper.
Our next stop was the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. We got there just as the show was about to start and managed to get right up in the front row on the right hand side. Both my Mom and Sister loved this show and talked about it for quite a while afterwards while we shopped in some stores. My sister wanted to go on Rockin' Roller-coaster and for a while I had my mom convinced to go on. (Which is amazing since she really doesn't go on any roller-coasters). The moment she saw the coaster take off she almost fell over, grabbed my arm and said 'There's no way I'm going on that!" I could only laugh and say "aww mom, you have to ride it for me" but there was no convincing her. So my sister went on the ride for us (we took the chicken exit - I knew I couldn't ride anyways). Of course we had to get the picture of my sister on the ride.
Since we still had some time before our Dinner reservations at 50's Prime Time, so we went through One Man's Dream. While waiting to go in the CM at the front was sharing some jokes when he noticed a child hanging on the chain rope. As he walked over he started to comment on how much people spend to come here to WDW and all the planning that goes on, with all the exciting things to do, yet all parents really need to do is go to their hardware store and purchase some Chain for $12 and tell their kids not to play with it. We all started to laugh as he continued to say " It's amazing how fascinated children are with chains, especially when they aren't supposed to play with them." By now the child had backed off the chain, but not more than 3 min later he was going back to it again. The video was pretty good, but quite outdated as it referred to Disney movies that would "soon be released" and they were already out on video. We ventured into the 'hands on area'. Met up with some characters from The Incredibles, unfortunately it was time to head to our dinner reservation, but we decided to come back afterwards to go through the animation drawing lesson.
Now I've been to the 50's Prime Time Cafe before so I knew what to expect. Of course I never warned my mom or sister for what they were about to experience. We were seated in the back right corner room of the cafe and had Cousin Jimmy as our waiter. I must say he went pretty easy on my mom and sister. Though they did get to witness some of the 50's Prime Time cafe experience. I even managed to get the 'cheese ball' recipe :) and a few pictures as well. For those of you who have had Sister Nicole, or know of her you will understand the kind of experience I had when we were there last summer on our Honeymoon, compared to her, Cousin Jimmy was very very nice... hehe.
During the end of our dinner a big thunderstorm hit, thankfully we had packed our Disney ponchos. After putting them on, we ventured out for some more fun. I stopped along the way back to One Man's Dream to take some pictures of the dark sky against the TOT. We finished the day by drawing Donald Duck and doing some souvenir shopping in the gift shop.
Tomorrow we are headed for Animal Kingdom - They are calling for some cool weather.
