The voice of Mickey Mouse for over 25 years and a certified Disney Legend, Wayne Allwine, passed away Monday, May 18th at the age of 62 due to complications from diabetes.

Allwine was also a sound effects editor and foley artist for Walt Disney Studios.

He is survived by his wife, Russi Taylor, who incidentally has been the voice of Minnie Mouse since 1986.

very sad indeed he sure was a great Mickey and did it for quite a while. My favorite voice as Mickey is still Walt himself, but Wayne sure did a great job. I wonder who will be his successor now?

I was so sad when I saw this on my Comcast homepage yesterday. I couldn't agree more Jasonic....Walt is my all time favorite Mickey, but Wayne did Walt proud! A sad day indeed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family & friends!
